Are you feeling the pinch? Grocery prices jumped more in April than anytime since 2022, a year when food prices rose 12%. Maybe you’ve noticed, fresh vegetable prices are 44% higher today than they were just three months ago. Prices for many other foods like meat, milk and bread have risen significantly too. Meanwhile, fuel costs continue to climb as U.S. inflation is at a 3-year high.

If you or someone you love is in need of food, we at Manna are here to help. Thanks to our generous supporters, our shelves remain stocked even while we serve a record number of people.

Back in March we had another successful time of packing beans and rice at Congregation Beth Or in Maple Glen as part of their event Matanot L'evyonim on Purim, at the end of the Family Shabbat Worship.

Dozens of people of all ages, including Rabbi Jason Bonder, packed rice and beans in household-sized bags for Manna, providing over 2,500 pounds of food for neighbors who shop in our market either in person or online. The youngest children that attended the dinner preceding worship decorated coloring pages of healthy food.

We are grateful for this annual tradition – which has been held annually for over 10 years! – and for the entire Beth Or community for purchasing and packing these bags for Manna and those we serve!
