Last Tuesday, MCC staff members attended the Buck-Mont Collaborative Community Summit: Bold on Purpose: Leading Audaciously, Together

The day brought together leaders, advocates, and changemakers committed to strengthening our communities through courageous, values-driven leadership. We were especially proud to see our own Samia Bristow, MCC Vice President of Programs and member of the Buck-Mont Collaborative Community Board, sharing insight and helping move these important conversations forward.

Thank you to the Buck-Mont Collaborative Community for creating space for collaboration, learning, and bold action. We're grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day!

The joy, enthusiasm, and support in the room made this year's brunch one of MCC's most memorable celebrations to date! Thanks to your support, we had a sold-out event and broke a record, raising over $450,000 to support MCC's services, policy, advocacy, and research!

Congratulations again to this year's honorees, Sara Lomax, the recipient of the Strengthening Motherhood Award; and Dr. Arline Geronimus, the recipient of the Spirit of Motherhood Award.

We are incredibly thankful for every attendee and their generosity!

This Mother's Day, Maternity Care Coalition celebrates all the people who nurture, care for, support, and uplift families and communities every day. 💐

We honor mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, chosen family, birthing people, those on their own parenting journey, and those with complex emotions today. Every journey is different, and every story deserves compassion and care.

At MCC, we remain committed to building healthier families, stronger communities, and a world where every parent and caregiver is supported, valued, and able to thrive.

We are wishing you moments of rest and love today and every day. 🧡

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🧡

Teachers have such an incredible impact on children, families, and communities. They do more than educate. They inspire curiosity, nurture growth, and help shape the future. Their dedication supports not only academic success, but the confidence, creativity, and well-being of every child.

At MCC, we're grateful for our Early Head Start educators who create safe, inclusive spaces where children can explore, discover, and thrive. Through our evidence-based model, they help prepare children for school while partnering with families to support their goals and overall well-being. This week, we celebrate the passion, care, and commitment of our teachers—and the lasting difference they make every single day.

Thank you to all teachers! Join us in thanking a teacher who has made an impact on your life.

In honor of this Mother's Day, we showed up for more than flowers!

On May 6, MCC's Policy & Advocacy team joined advocates, lawmakers, and community partners at the Pennsylvania State Capitol to uplift what moms and families really need: policies that support healthy births, thriving families, reproductive freedom, and gender justice.

Together with partners including MomsRising.org, National Council of Jewish Women, Pittsburgh Section, New Voices for Reproductive Justice, Planned Parenthood Action, we stood alongside changemakers committed to advancing maternal and child health across Pennsylvania.

The day served as an important reminder that supporting mothers requires more than just words. It requires policy change, investment, and community care.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their stories, and continues to advocate for healthier futures for moms, babies, and families everywhere. 💜

Black Maternal Health Week (April 11–17) is a time to uplift the voices, experiences, and leadership of Black mothers and birthing people—while advancing efforts to improve maternal health outcomes and address persistent racial inequities in care.

This year, MCC staff, partners, and community members came together to host, attend, and support events centered on celebration, education, and awareness.

We remain committed to advancing health equity, celebrating progress, and continuing the work toward a future where all mothers and families can thrive.
