Equality Cincinnati - Political Action Committee Equality Cincinnati advocates equality for gay, le***an, bisexual, and transgender people in Greater Cincinnati.

Our mission is to work for full equality for gay, le***an, bisexual, and transgender people in Greater Cincinnati and to prevent discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity. We are an independent local organization dedicated to making change here where we live. We welcome everyone who believes in our mission to join us. We are continuing the work that began in 2004

when thousands of people in our region came together to repeal an anti-gay law in Cincinnati known as “Article XII”. This was the only ballot issue victory for the gay community in the country that year. Paid for by Equality Cincinnati PAC

Yesterday, the first LGBTQIA+ Commission meeting was held in the City of Cincinnati, a historic and meaningful step toward building a safer, more inclusive community for everyone who calls our city home.

During the meeting, commissioners voted unanimously to condemn Ohio House Bill 249, legislation that would criminalize certain drag performances and further target LGBTQIA+ expression under the guise of public policy.

We’re grateful to live in a city where leaders are willing to stand up, speak out, and affirm that LGBTQIA+ people belong here, are valued here, and will be protected here.

Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and humanity of our transgender community.

Visibility is powerful—but it must be matched with action. We must speak up and stand with our trans neighbors and community members, especially at a time when they are under attack. In 2026, more than 700 bills have been introduced in state legislatures across the country aimed at silencing, erasing, and excluding trans Americans from being seen, heard, valued, and affirmed.

We see you. We stand with you. And we will not be silent.

Equality Cincinnati will always be committed to advocating, uplifting, and fighting for a community that deserves dignity, safety, and the freedom to live openly and authentically.

Judge Jennifer Branch, a steadfast ally of the LGBTQ+ community who represented the plaintiffs in Ohio’s marriage equality cases—including Obergefell v. Hodges—will join Judge Kari Bloom, Administrative Judge of the Hamilton County Juvenile Court, for an inspiring conversation on justice, leadership, and equality.
