A book to mend the soul – it takes us to different places, to meet new people and to learn how to cope with grief and loss. When I heard about this book for the first time, my mind immediately went to the movie “P.S. I love you”. Only this book is much better, with all the book recommendations, the bookshop story, the journeys, the friendships. This book has so much soul in it, and it is so beautifully written. Imagine to be loved so much, that your beloved one takes care of you, even after his passing. How hard it must be to know you are going to die and then go and plan something so sweet and thoughtful for the woman you love. Only a great love could endure so much. It's sweet how he knew what books to choose and how they would help her. It's like he knew she would lose her pleasure for reading. I feel like I've read multiple stories within this book: the story of a grieving widow, the story of a grieving son, the story of a struggling bookshop, the story of a bookclub, the story of a family and amidst all of these, a love story.
