Literacy is dignity, and our summer reading camps are proof.

For the 11th year in a row, we’ve held our summer reading camps with Mount Airy CDC. Teachers, tutors, recreation centers, and volunteers came together to create spaces for young students to practice reading and writing throughout the summer—protecting the knowledge they learned during the school year.

Now, these students are more prepared heading back to the classrooms. Thank you for another fantastic summer reading camps experience.

Hussein Jabarin is a 46-year-old U.S. Citizen, a proud Pennsylvanian, a small business owner, a husband, and father of two children. On August 12, 2026, Israeli forces raided Hussein’s home in Tuqu El Menya, Palestine, and detained Hussein and members of his family.

Hussein was in Israeli captivity for several days without knowing the charges. Hussein’s basic human rights were violated. , my former Chief of Staff and sister-in-law to Mr. Jabarin, contacted elected officials, the U.S. Embassy, the State Department, and posted on social media. Many joined the demand for his release.

As a result of this advocacy, Mr. Jabarin is free. Hear from Jude about how she used her voice, and the voice of millions across the nation, to fight for her brother-in-law's release.
