Yardley Borough Police Department – Bus Safety Enforcement Update
The Yardley Borough Police Department would like to remind motorists of the importance of school bus safety and obeying Pennsylvania’s school bus stopping laws.
During the month of March 2026, our department reviewed 11 school bus safety violations, with 10 citations approved, resulting in a 90.9% approval rate.
The top location for violations during this reporting period was the 100 block of North Main Street, where multiple violations were recorded.
These numbers are not just statistics; they represent moments where children could have been placed in danger while getting on or off a school bus. Passing a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended is dangerous, illegal, and unacceptable.
We are asking all drivers to please slow down, stay alert, and be patient around school buses. A few extra seconds can make all the difference in keeping our children safe.
The Yardley Borough Police Department will continue working to protect our students, support our schools, and hold drivers accountable when they put children at risk.
Thank you to our community members who continue to drive safely and help keep Yardley Borough a safe place for our children and families.
