Ross Wolfe (Button 107) is on the ballot today, May 19th for the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee. He is a lifelong Republican and has served as a Republican Committeeman in Philadelphia since the age of 18. During that time, he has worked very hard to promote the Republican Party and Republican candidates here in Philadelphia.
He is the current General Counsel for Philadelphia Republican City Committee (i.e. Philly GOP), the Pennsylvania Young Republicans, and the Young Republican National Federation. In these roles, he has devoted countless hours of pro bono legal work on behalf of the Republican Party and its candidates, including serving as Election Day counsel in Philadelphia during the 2020 and 2024 elections to ensure fair elections.
In addition to his current roles, he is also a former Republican ward leader (2017-21), Chairman of the Philadelphia Young Republicans (2017-2021), Chairman of the SE Pennsylvania Chapter of the Republican National Lawyers Association (2022-2024), Campaign Manager for Matt Wolfe’s City Council campaigns (2015 & 2019), Campaign Manager for Jim Pio’s State Representative campaign (2016), and Philadelphia Campaign Chair for Scott Wagner’s gubernatorial campaign (2018).
Through his involvement, he has attempted to represent the Republican Party in a positive light here in Philadelphia. As Chairman of the Philadelphia Young Republicans, he raised enough money to purchase more than 850 backpacks filled with supplies, which they distributed to children in elementary schools throughout the city (See “Philly Yrs donate School Backpacks” https://northeasttimes.com/2020/09/29/philly-yrs-donate-school-backpacks/ ).
When City Democrats proposed using taxpayer dollars to fund city elections, he authored an op-ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer against the bill, which ultimately failed to pass, and spoke against it at a City Council hearing on the proposal (See “Campaign-finance bill a power grab by Philly’s corrupt Democrat establishment” https://www.inquirer.com/philly/opinion/commentary/campaign-finance-bill-a-power-grab-by-phillys-corrupt-democratic-establishment-20171009.html ).
And when Greenfield Elementary School hung anti-GOP signs in its windows, he spoke up, using his platform to denounce using elementary schools as a tool to bash Republicans, stating:
"Parents of all political ideologies and affiliations deserve the right to have their children attend Greenfield Elementary School without feeling that they are more or less entitled to their political views than any other parent of a different political affiliation," Wolfe said in a statement. "This type of signage is a problem because it chills the speech and free expression of parents who might be members of the Republican Party or other groups affiliated with the Republican Party, and makes them feel unwelcome at the school."
