FASTFWD – an urban innovations refinery based in Philadelphia, aims to source and cultivate solutions to the world’s most pressing urban challenges. Forged through a winning application to the Bloomberg Mayors Challenge, the partnership between the Wharton Social Impact Initiative, The Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics, and GoodCompany Group works to redefine urban challenges as business oppor

tunities. Using Philadelphia as a focal point, the partnership seeks to reinvent public-private partnerships between cities and their innovators from the for-profit field to cultivate a new ecosystem of urban innovation.

FastFWD will occupy some of the 27,000 square feet space as part of a partnership with Impact Hub Philly, the coworking space that opened in 3rd Ward this fall and will continue to operate there. The 12-week accelerator will host 10 entrepreneurs focused on public safety.
