We have recently received reports of overnight thefts from vehicles in our area. In many cases, these incidents can be crimes of opportunity, particularly when vehicles are left unlocked or valuables are visible inside.

Before heading inside for the night:

✅ Lock your vehicle doors
✅ Close all windows and the sunroof
✅ Remove valuables and electronics from plain view
✅ Take your keys/key fob inside
✅ Park in a well-lit area when possible
✅ Check your vehicle before going to bed

Please take a moment tonight to make sure your vehicle is secure. A few seconds spent locking your car could save you from becoming an easy target.

If you see something suspicious in your neighborhood, don’t approach, call 911 or contact the police department.

Durham Rd (Rt 413) will be closed to all traffic between Wrights Rd & the Newtown Bypass, beginning 11pm on Sat 9/12/26 through approximately 4am on Sun 9/13/26, to replace a damaged Verizon utility pole.
Local traffic only will be permitted through from the Newtown Bypass, but please use caution.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

This morning, Council Rock High School South hosted a memorial ceremony in their Sculpture Garden, providing our community with an opportunity to pause, reflect, and honor the lives forever changed by that day. On display in the garden is a World Trade Center I-beam artifact “Reflecting Hope”, serving as a powerful and lasting reminder of the events of September 11 and the lives that were lost.

We remember the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away. We remember the families who lost loved ones, the members of our military who answered the call, and the countless acts of courage and compassion that followed.

As a law enforcement agency, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others, and we remain committed to carrying forward their legacy of courage, service, and selflessness.

Today, and every day, we honor their courage, their service, and their sacrifice.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Newtown Township, PA - Faces of the Newtown Township Police Department, Community Connection Spotlight 🚓

Sergeant Paul Deppi joined the Newtown Township Police Department in October 1998.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Deppi has continued to grow as a leader and law enforcement professional. He was promoted to Corporal in January 2012 and to Sergeant in September 2023. In February 2020, he graduated from Class 471 of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, an intensive leadership and management program for law enforcement professionals.

Sergeant Deppi's commitment to excellence has been recognized throughout his career. His honors include commendation letters, a Bravery Award, multiple Lifesaving Awards, and Merit Awards.

His dedication extends well beyond his daily responsibilities. Sergeant Deppi currently serves in several specialized roles, including the Bucks County Major Incident Response Team (M.I.R.T.), Teaching, Education and Mentoring (T.E.A.M.) School Liaison Program Instructor, and a MCSAP Commercial Vehicle Inspector.

Outside of work, Sergeant Deppi enjoys giving back through another passion, lacrosse. He coaches both men's and women's lacrosse, sharing his knowledge, experience, and passion for the sport with the next generation of athletes.
