As this year comes to an end, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting.
When I started Woof & Willow, I dreamed of helping more dogs than I could ever count. I dreamed of growth, of stability, and of creating something that could last far beyond me. And while so much of that dream has come true, the reality is that running a rescue entirely out of my home is hard — emotionally, physically, and logistically.
This year showed me just how much more help is needed, and how much more Woof & Willow could do with the right space.
Long term — and I mean long term — I would love for Woof & Willow to have a small facility or dedicated property. Not just a place for dogs, but a place for community. A space where puppies can heal, mamas can rest, and dogs can receive the care they deserve — and where people can gather for puppy-focused events, adoption days, educational opportunities, and fundraisers that bring everyone together for a common purpose.
A place built with intention, compassion, and sustainability in mind.
To be very clear: this is not happening tomorrow. Or even next year. Realistically, this is a 2-year goal, maybe longer. I am very much running on fumes right now 😅 — but I believe deeply that with time, careful planning, and community support, this is possible.
Over the next couple of years, my hope is to slowly save, fundraise, and explore what this could look like — responsibly and thoughtfully — so Woof & Willow can grow in a way that’s healthy for both the dogs and me.
If you’re a realtor, know of properties that could work for something like this, or have resources, ideas, or advice you’re willing to share, I would be so grateful to hear from you. Even early conversations and guidance at this stage mean more than you know.
Thank you for believing in this rescue. Thank you for supporting the messy, imperfect, behind-the-scenes reality of saving lives. And thank you for being part of a future that I truly believe is bright — even if it takes time to get there 🤍
