The event will include a brief presentation followed by facilitated group discussions designed to gather input from residents, businesses, and visitors on how they would like to see Bethlehem Pike evolve.

Thank you to our fantastic public works crew! Also, a huge thank you to our neighbors for making the daunting task easier by clearing the roads.

The Snow Emergency has been lifted. Snow plowing and salting operations have been completed. We extend our sincere thanks to our Public Works Department for their hard work and dedication throughout the storm to keep our roads safe.

Grateful for Kathleen Hunsickers years of service to our community. Condolences to her family and friends, and may she rest in peace

The Lower Gwynedd Township Board of Supervisors and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Kathleen Hunsicker. Kath served on the Township’s Park and Recreation Board for 8 years and as a Supervisor for 14 years. She cared deeply about our community and served it well. Our hearts go out to her family. Funeral services will be held on October 18, 2025, at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Ambler. Calling hours will begin at 9am followed by a Mass at 11am.

Upper and Lower Gwynedd Townships Announce Historic Merger
April 1, 2025

NORTH WALES AND SPRING HOUSE, PA - For the first time in over 130 years, the Townships of Upper Gwynedd and Lower Gwynedd are a single municipality. After extensive discussions, the Commissioners and Supervisors of the two townships were able to identify an overwhelming number of service improvements and costs savings by shifting the boundaries back to 1891.

“We are reunited, and it feels so good!” said Danielle Duckett, prior Chair of the Lower Gwynedd Township Board of Supervisors, whose title has not yet been decided in the new joint administration.

Representatives from both former townships were quick to note that the public can now focus on spelling Gwynedd correctly, rather than spending time worrying if they are located in the Upper or Lower municipality.

PECO has announced an infrastructure project in Lower Gwynedd, which will enhance the local electric distribution systems. This $4.5 million investment aims to improve system reliability, support cleaner energy adoption, and better withstand severe storms.

The project, spanning a couple years and occurring in phases, will begin with work on Old Penllyn Pike and Pen Amber Road. The initial project is scheduled to start early 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2026. Tree removal and trimming will be required. A PECO contractor will survey the area in the coming weeks, and property owners will be contacted directly if their property is affected.

Residents will receive updates as the project progresses from PECO. Visit the Township website for current project information provided to us by. This is not a Township project; this is a PECO project.
