Hello Hilltowners,
I hope you are all well. Thank you for the safety measures that you have been taking, as put forth by the CDC and Governor Wolf.

Now that Covid-19 is slowly creeping its way out of the forefront of our thoughts, its time to start reposting about township news!

Here’s what’s happening:
The next Supervisors’ meeting will be held on May 26th at 7pm. Please note that the township building is closed to the public during the day, but for public meetings ten people will be allowed into the meeting room on a first come first served basis. Social distancing will be enforced and face masks must be worn.

The planning commission met on May 18th and came up with a recommendation for the Venue at Hilltown. It was suggested that the housing density be reduced to 125 homes and the buffer be increased. This will be brought in front of the supervisors at one of our next meetings.

The face deadline for the county real estate tax bill has been extended from June 30th to July 30th. Resolution 2020-11 was passed by the Hilltown Supervisors to extend the township tax bill to August 31st.

Please remember that there are a lot of small businesses in Hilltown that are struggling due to the quarantine. Please keep these businesses in mind for any of your needs. Stay healthy!

Hello Hilltown Township

As many of you may have noticed we were forced to close all township parks this week due to too many people congregating in one area. I apologize for this, but it was a necessary move in order to keep Hilltown Township free of the Covid -19 virus.

Speaking of keeping Covid -19 out of Hilltown Township, currently there are no known cases in Hilltown. Attached is a map that shows the local townships and known cases of Covid-19. Please remain diligent so we can keep Hilltown Township virus free for as long as possible.

An emergency declaration for Hilltown was signed on Wednesday by all three supervisors. This declaration allows us as a township to purchase necessary equipment and supplies from anywhere possible without a bidding procedure. This declaration of emergency also allows the township to receive emergency funding if it was deemed necessary and were available.

Small businesses that have been hurt by the order to close their doors are encouraged to look into new SBA loans that were recently approved. The interest rate for businesses is 3.75% and 2.5% for non-profits. The deadline for applications is December 21st. For more information refer to https://www.sba.gov/page/coronavirus-covid-19-small-business-guidance-loan-resources.

Processing and issuance of all Zoning & Building permits are fully suspended. Residents are encouraged to mail in any permits and they will be reviewed as long as the township staff is able to continue to work. Property owners are certainly permitted to repair or replace any system or incidental damage to their dwelling or building, if that repair or replacement is necessary to the continued safe, healthy use of the building and comfort of the occupants. Permits for this work should be submitted within three days.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy. Please share this page with other residents so we can all be up to date on the latest Hilltown Township news.

Hello Hilltown
This page will be used to share information that may be useful to Hilltown residents. This is not an official Hilltown Township page.

We are living in one of the most interesting times of our lives with a lot of unknowns in the future. Hilltown Township has decided to err on the side of caution and close the township building to the public. Township employees are still hard at work. If you need to contact someone inside the township building please phone: 215-453-6000, fax: 215-453-1024 or email: [email protected], 8 AM-4:30 PM, Monday thru Friday.

Most of the zoning and planning meetings have been cancelled until further notice. (The zoning meeting scheduled for March 26th has not yet been cancelled, please check the website before attending) The monthly supervisors meeting (as mandated by the 2nd class township code), will take place on Monday the 23rd of March. This meeting will take place outside of the township building. There is nothing on the agenda and the meeting will be called to order and then immediately closed. The public is encouraged NOT to come to this meeting. The next meeting will be held on April 13th and/or 27th and there will be time for public comment at that time.

The Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for March 28th has also been cancelled.

During this time of unknowns we must remember our local Hilltown businesses. If at all possible please support them at this time. When the virus passes, we need to make sure that our businesses can pick right up and continue to serve the community.

Attached is a chart to help residents decipher a common cold compared to a more serious illness. Be smart, be safe and be healthy.
