"The 1776 Project PAC, a group supporting Republican school board candidates..., has spent more than $86,000 on mailers and text messages in Bucks County. Approximately half that has gone toward supporting Central Bucks GOP candidates, with the rest going to candidates in Centennial School District and Pennridge, according to Bucks County campaign finance reports." - The Philadelphia Inquirer.
What we have to ask ourselves is why? Why would people with no stake in our community and no ties to our schools pour this kind of money into local races? It’s not out of care for our kids, our teachers, or our taxpayers. And it’s certainly not for the good of the candidates they prop up.
Super PACs like this don’t invest out of kindness, they invest to control. To turn our classrooms into their battlegrounds and our district into their experiment. They have no business in local elections.
These are our schools, our tax dollars, our children. Decisions about Central Bucks should be made by the people who live here, not by political operatives looking for their next win.
Our community is not their playground. We refuse to be their next talking point or their “flipped district” trophy. We will not sell our schools. Our kids are not their game.
