A recent ride-along with Temple University Police offered freshman Nick Alexander an up-close look at the realities of campus policing. A criminal justice major, Nick said he was eager to participate because of his strong interest in law enforcement and public service. Throughout the experience, he observed officers responding to calls, engaging with the community, and maintaining a visible presence across campus. Nick said the opportunity reinforced his respect for the work officers do every day. “My dad served for 23 years in the Navy, so I always have been interested in a career of service,” he explained. During the ride-along, Nick noted the professionalism and approachability of Temple Police Officers, as well as their commitment to keeping students safe. He appreciated the balance between enforcement and community engagement, calling it an experience he’ll never forget.
