A HUGE thank you to Black Hills Energy for helping with the dirt work needed for our new playground! If you drove by Sid Brown Park today, you probably saw it -- things are officially happening!🙌

Our original plan was to install on Sunday September 13th, but with weather in the forecast, Sunday's installation is still up in the air.

✨In the meantime, Saturday September 12th around 7:30 A.M we decided we will be tackling playground pre-assembly and getting as much ready as possible for installation. Whether you can give us an hour or stick around for the day, every extra set of hands help!

This playground has been a community effort from the very beginning -- fundraising, donations, planning, site work and now BUILDING. 💚 We're so close, Peru. Come help us bring it across the finish line!

🚧🛝PLAYGROUND WORK STARTS TOMORROW!🚧🛝

Things are officially starting to move at Sid Brown Park! 🎉

Beginning tomorrow, September 4, Black Hills Energy will start dirt work and site preparation for our new playground.

📅WHATS NEXT:
🚜September 4 -- Dirt work begins
📍September 10 -- Playground post-hole locations will be marked
🕳️September 10/11-- Post holes will be dug
🛠️September 13 -- INSTALL DAY 🎉
TBD -- concrete to be poured
TBD -- Rubber mulch to be hauled

⚠️Please use caution around Sid Brown Park while work is underway and give crews plenty of space to safely complete the site preparation.

🚨🛝PERU... WE'RE GETTING CLOSER TO PLAYGROUND TIME! 🛝🚨

Our new playground is getting closer to becoming a reality 🎉💚

At this time, we do not have a set installation date, the playground is set to be delivered August 17th.
🚜🧱Installation is contingent upon the completion of all necessary site preparation, dirt work, and concrete work. Once those pieces are complete and the site is ready, we'll officially move into BUILD MODE! 🔨🛝

There will be two professional playground representatives on site to oversee and guide the build.

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️RIGHT NOW, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

We're putting together a list of community members we can contact once installation is ready to begin. Signing up simply means:

👉"When it's time to build, CONTACT ME!" 💪

Volunteers will be needed for assembly, moving materials, installation, and cleanup and even capturing the moment!

📢Grant update

While we're disappointed to share that Peru was note selected for the last round on the T-Mobile Hometown Grant, we're incredibly grateful for everyone who supported our application and believes in our vision for our community.

Good news is we're still waiting to hear back on The American Horticultural Society Anna Snyder Sensory Garden Grant, and we're hopeful for a positive update.

Thank you for your continued support. We'll keep pursuing every oppurtunity to invest in Peru and will continue sharing updates along the way

📢 Peruva Palooza Cancellation Notice 📢

Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteer hosts and low attendance, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining Peruva Palooza Summer Camp sessions for this season.

Thank you for your support of Peru Parks & Recreation. We look forward to bringing new opportunities and events to our community in the future.

⚾️📚PERUVA PALOOZA IS HAPPENING TONIGHT 📚⚾️

Join us at 6:00 PM at the City Ball Field for a fun-filled evening of learning, reading, and hands-on activities!

Our volunteer host, Dan Cotton , will be leading tonight's camp as we explore the exciting world of baseball. We'll start by reading the classic story "Casey at the Bat" and then step up to the plate for some baseball fun as participants get the chance to hit some balls and practice their swing!

Bring your curiosity, your energy, and your friends! We cant wait to see you there.

‼️📢Peruva Palooza Update: Tonight's Camp has been Canceled 🚫

We are sorry for any inconvenience, our camp volunteer that was lined up tonight unfortunately could not lead camp.

Please consider volunteering to be camp hosts so we can continue to provide this for our families and children during the summer. We currently only have 1 volunteer lined up.
