I remember when I was younger (12-13) I went to a cousin’s birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese. I didn’t really know anyone there so I sat by myself and didn’t talk. When it came time to eat, again I didn’t say anything. One of the parents came up to me and said something that has stuck with me to my adulthood. She said “closed mouths don’t get fed”. At the time I didn’t fully understand the weight of her statement.

If no one knows what you need, want, or going through. How can they help? The money, support, and team I need won’t just appear out of thin air. I must speak up.

Tonight I spent way too much time staring at numbers.

Land. Buildings. Utilities. Equipment. Everything it takes to turn an idea into a place where veterans can actually rebuild their lives.

I’ll admit it… it got to me.

For a while I just sat there thinking, How am I ever supposed to raise this kind of money?

The doubt started creeping in. Maybe I’m aiming too high. Maybe I’m the wrong person to lead something this big.

Then I caught myself.

When I was in the Army, we didn’t get to choose whether the mission looked easy or impossible. We looked at the objective, made a plan, and started moving.

This mission deserves the same mindset.

I’m not asking people to believe in me. I’m asking them to believe that a veteran coming home deserves one stable place to land before life knocks them down.

I don’t know who will write the first big check. I don’t know if it’ll be one person, one company, or thousands of people giving what they can.

What I do know is that fear has never built anything worth remembering.

So I’m choosing courage over comfort.

I’m going to keep making phone calls. Keep sending emails. Keep hearing “no.” Keep showing up. And when I’ve done everything I possibly can, I’m leaving the rest in God’s hands.

Maybe this dream is bigger than me because it was never supposed to be carried by one person.

Four years ago, I left the Army.

Like a lot of veterans, I quickly realized that transitioning to civilian life isn't easy. The structure is gone. The mission is gone. And sometimes it feels like you're figuring everything out alone.

I started asking myself a simple question:

What if there was a place where veterans could land after service and rebuild their footing before life started falling apart?

That question became Operation Stable Ground.

My goal is to build a 90-day transitional housing and mentorship program for veterans who need a safe place, structure, guidance, and a path forward.

This page is where I'll be documenting the entire journey.

The wins.The setbacks.The planning.The fundraising.The construction.The people who help make it happen.
