The PPCAA had the honor and privilege of welcoming a new lateral transfer officer from Lake Stevens, WA on 11 June. He received one of our PPCAA coins and a PPCAA information pamphlet. The front and back of the coin is also pictured. Thank you to Sherri and Clay Beall for attending the Oath of Office ceremony to say ‘Welcome Aboard’ to this hero in blue!

We had the honor and privilege of participating in the Department’s Citizens’ Academy graduation event. We were able to present an overview of our mission and activities in hopes of motivating graduates to join the PPCAA. Officer Babros was honored for his exemplary performance during his assignment in the Community Relations Unit. He is moving into a detective position supporting the School Resource/Liaison Officers. He is a GREAT AMERICAN and we wish him well in his future endeavors!

PPCAA members were recently treated to a private tour of the Department’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). The RTCC is a tremendous force multiplier for the Department and routinely puts ‘eyes on criminals’ in seconds. This capability enhances officers’ ability to quickly apprehend criminals and enhances public safety. We provided the RTCC leader with a letter of appreciation and PPCAA Coin in appreciation of their efforts as well as a ‘thank you’ for the private tour of the facility.

We recently had the honor and privilege of providing pallets of bottled water to both Peoria Police Department’s stations, North and South. They truly appreciated the water that will serve them well during their arduous and critical shifts, especially as the temperatures begin to rise. They use the water themselves and to aid citizens in distress that they encounter on calls for service. We are blessed to have these heroines and heroes keeping us safe!!
