Pensacola Beach updates! 🌴🌊

Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger shares the latest on what’s happening and what’s next:

🚗 Gateway Project: Construction was paused for the busy summer season to minimize traffic disruptions. After Labor Day, work will resume with removal of the toll booth and installation of the new plate-reading system. Completion is expected by the end of fall.

🚲 Traffic Management: The study has been extended through November to gather more data and look at ways to improve traffic flow, pedestrian and bike safety, and future parking.

🌿 Beautification: More improvements are planned, but they’ll follow the traffic study so the work can be done right the first time.

Join BRACE for the Faith Community Emergency Summit on Tuesday, August 25, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium. Faith leaders, emergency management professionals, and community leaders will come together to discuss disaster preparedness, response, recovery, church security, and the important role faith communities play when disaster strikes.

It was an honor to join GE Vernova in recognizing 25 years of manufacturing excellence and impact right here in Northwest Florida! Addressing homelessness takes partnership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to solutions. 🤝

I recently spoke with Pensacola City Councilwoman Allison Patton about the upcoming funding application for Opening Doors of Northwest Florida and the importance of community support in continuing the progress being made to help our unhoused neighbors.

Through stronger leadership, strategic planning, and expanded outreach efforts, Opening Doors is helping more people find stable housing and access the resources they need. I’m proud to support a letter of support for this important funding opportunity and look forward to seeing that momentum continue.

Homelessness isn’t a city issue or a county issue—it’s a community issue, and it takes all of us working together to create lasting solutions. 💙

🚑🚒Bring the kids to this free, family-friendly event and get a close-up look at county ambulances, fire trucks, and dump trucks purchased through L.O.S.T.

📍The open house will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Ferry Pass Community Center, located at 8800 N. 9th Ave., which also features a new playground and outdoor exercise equipment funded by L.O.S.T.
