The Third-Annual Allenstown Easter Egg Hunt was held this past Saturday. The weather was great, and everyone seemed to enjoy their time getting outside. We would like to thank the Friends of the Library, the Allenstown Fire Association, the Allenstown Police Association, the Allenstown Fire Department, the Allenstown Police Department, the numerous volunteers, and the community for making this year's event memorable.

The winner of the Jelly Bean Guessing Game was Blake F. Nice job Blake!

Join us for our Annual East Egg Hunt. This year, it will be behind what will become the new Town Hall, 30 Main Street.

The New Hampshire Police Cadet Training Academy is designed to help young people, ages 14 to 20, develop skills and knowledge about law enforcement, leadership and themselves. The Cadet Academy is an annual event held in June at the New Hampshire Technical Institute. The academy is a one week, residential program that cadets can attend for 3 summers (Basic, Advanced, and Leadership years). All staff at the Cadet Academy are sworn NH law enforcement officers across the state.

The NH Police Cadet Training Academy will be held June 20th-June 26th this year and registration is currently open for applications. For more information or to apply go to: https://www.nhpcta.org/

We also have a new promotional video that gives a glimpse of what the week looks like:

You do not need to be from NH to attend or be a member of any police explorer post.

Support the NH Police Cadet Training Academy at the annual Gala. Join us for a night of fundraising, networking, and community building in Concord, NH.

Due to an uptick in theft reports from the Bear Brook State Park Snowmobile Parking Area, the Allenstown Police Department is reminding all snowmobilers and visitors to secure their vehicles and belongings while using the trails. With increased winter activity in the park, unattended vehicles can become targets for opportunistic theft. In addition, our patrol officers will be increasing patrols of the area throughout their shifts.

What visitors should do:

• Lock all trailer and vehicle doors before heading out on the trails.

• Remove valuables or store them out of sight, in a locked compartment.

• Do not leave keys in or near the vehicle.

• Report suspicious activity immediately by calling the Allenstown Police Department.

• Keep a detailed record of sensitive items left in the vehicle (serial numbers, pictures, etc..), in case a theft occurs.

We know everyone is busy during the day, but please take some time to look at your vehicle's registration. If it has expired, please take some time to visit the Town Hall and register your vehicle. Lately, we have seen an uptick in unregistered vehicles. In the last few days, we have stopped vehicles that have expired in January of 2026, December of 2025, October of 2025, April of 2025, and March of 2025.

If you receive a citation for driving an unregistered vehicle, the fine amount is $124.00, and then you still have to register your vehicle. Save yourself $124.00, and go register your vehicle before meeting one of our officers during a traffic stop.

Edit:
There seems to be some confusion on what a vehicle's registration is. A registration is your license plates, which expire on the last day of your birth month. Your vehicle's inspection is the sticker on your windshield that you receive when you get your vehicle inspected. Due to the ongoing legal battle to eliminate inspection requirements in the State, all expired or expiring inspections have been extended until April 10, 2026. Registration requirements remain unchanged.

Update on Inspection Requirements:
Orginally car inspections were extended through April 10, 2026. The New Hampshire Attorney General has updated the car inspections requirements to no longer be needed and shops can no longer issue car inspection stickers. This is a fluid situation and could change.
