🚨Hemisphere/15 King Street update:
Hello, this is Mayor, Ted Bettencourt. I wanted to provide an update on activity at the old J.B. Thomas Hospital site on King Street. The owner, Hemisphere Development, has received a permit from the state to conduct asbestos abatement work within the building. They will be mobilizing on the site as early as today, and we expect the work to last about 5 to 6 weeks. The work will be monitored by inspectors from our city health and building departments. We have been told that hemisphere will file for a demolition permit for the building after the abatement work has been completed, but we have not received that request as of yet.
