Severe Storms Expected Monday; Tornadoes Possible

A strong line of thunderstorms is expected to hit the county Monday afternoon and evening, with the potential for dangerous wind gusts up to 70-80 mph and possible tornadoes.

The US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington issued a severe weather briefing this afternoon, warning of a powerful cold front moving through the region tomorrow. This is a serious weather event, and residents should be ready.

Earlier this week, older adults were surprised with beautiful bouquets delivered right to their doors!

The floral arrangements were created and provided through the generosity of the Reston Garden Club, bringing color and a welcome moment of brightness to homes throughout the community. We are very grateful.

This effort came together through the ongoing collaboration of the Department of Family Services Home Delivered Meals staff (for their clients), Volunteer Solutions staff, and our dedicated volunteer drivers (a few of whom are shown here).

Thank you to everyone who helped make these uplifting special deliveries possible!
