Once elected, one of my main focuses on this upcoming term is the advancement of economic opportunity in the area. As someone who has seen and continues to see his own generation move out of the state simply because they cannot afford to be here nor can they find jobs, I will make it my mission to bring more jobs back. Just last week I found out one of my church friends since childhood is about to move to larger cities simply because he cannot find a good long term career in West Virginia. We must do more to fix our economic situation.
I plan to introduce legislation which will cut red tape, reduce the business inventory tax, eliminate the income tax, eliminate property taxes for owners over the age of retirement, tourism promotion, and investment to our small businesses.
