Our Greene County prosecutors continue to stand up for children and hold offenders accountable. These are difficult, emotional cases — but they are ones we will never shy away from.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the citizens of Greene County who show up for jury duty ready to work, listen, and make the hard decisions that keep our community safe.

A Greene County jury found Jamie Haney guilty of two counts of rape—he’ll serve 60 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Justice was served, but your Greene County office took no time off and immediately started a second trial today.

We take our communities safety seriously. I’m proud of our deputies hard work this week!

A Craighead County jury delivered a 22-year sentence to a s*x offender who failed to register and violated residency restrictions near a school.

These laws exist for a reason. We will enforce them. We will hold offenders accountable. And we will do everything in our power to keep our children safe.

In child s*xual abuse cases, delayed disclosure is the norm, not the exception. It takes tremendous courage for victims to come forward, sometimes years later.

Thank you to the West Memphis Police Department for their work investigating this case and to the jurors who listened to difficult testimony and delivered justice.

I want to recognize Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jessica Thomason and Deputy Prosecutor Katherine Callaway for representing our office at the Wild Game Dinner Fundraiser benefiting John 3:17 and Breaking Bonds. I am grateful for their willingness to speak and support organizations that are doing such important work in our community.

We are thankful for the incredible service these programs provide to the many friends and family members in our community who are struggling with addiction. Our office values the strong relationship we have with John 3:17 and Breaking Bonds and the tools they provide that help us divert individuals suffering from addiction into treatment rather than incarceration when appropriate.

Violent crime cases cannot be prosecuted without witnesses who are willing to stand by their statements in court. Unfortunately, significant witness issues have forced our office to file a nolle prosequi in the Blytheville homicide case.

Accountability in violent crime depends on the willingness of the community to participate in the justice system. If witnesses become available or additional evidence develops, our office will evaluate the case and will not hesitate to refile charges.
