Today Team Scott honored 22 Airmen hailing from 15 countries during a Citizenship and Oath of Allegiance ceremony presided by Gen. Mike Minihan, Air Mobility Command commander. 🫡 🇺🇸
The unique backgrounds, cultures and experiences of these Americans embody the rich tapestry of the American dream,” said Minihan during his speech. “A dream founded on the principles of freedom, equality and opportunity for all.”
Airman 1st Class Salat Ali, 375th Force Support Squadron and Somalian refugee, was one of two Airmen who spoke about the difficulties and challenges of becoming a citizen. He also highlighted the unwavering resiliency his experience brings and the benefits of a culturally diverse force.
“Having a new American as your wingman translates to having a resilient, hardworking individual with exceptional survival instincts by your side. Moreover, it means having a linguistically and culturally diverse ally who can greatly contribute to advancing the Air Force's mission. Their unique perspectives, values, and ethics serve as valuable assets to the Air Force.
