Based on the current edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), the national standard set by The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, new traffic signs are being installed today in Forest Estates as part of our 2026 Capital Infrastructure Project. The new signs will improve safety for motorists in a standardized fashion along with an increased retroreflectivity for night time travel.

The contractor finished most of the roadways by placing HMA surface course on the south side of the Forest Estates subdivision.  The southern half of California Avenue and East Oaksbury Lane will remain unimproved until the City of Rolling of Meadows completes the east end of Oaksbury in the coming weeks.  We greatly appreciate your continued patience. Our contractor finished placing just over 1,200 tons of levelling binder yesterday.  We anticipate them to return on Friday to place structure frame and lids back into the pavement.  Then, starting Monday morning, May 18, they will place approximately 2,400 tons of surface course, weather permitting.

After a very early morning prime coat, paving operations began this morning.  Today, the contractor plans to place around 1,100 tons of leveling binder.  Afterwards, structures will be placed back in the pavement and adjusted to match the surface course which should be placed next week.

Milling operations began bright and early this morning! We expect the crew to work throughout today and into tomorrow.  Expect two days of grinding, overlapping one day of patching.  Unfortunately there will be no parking in the street to allow the contractor full access. Please contact us 847.358.6336 if you have any concerns.  We anticipate HMA surface to be placed the following week.
