It’s only been 3 weeks since the opening of the Village and so wonderful to see so many people out and about enjoying the restaurants and public space again!

A reminder that our next upcoming PPCC Meeting is Thursday, September 10th meeting at 6 pm by Zoom. The Election Committee will announce the results of the PPCC Election of Area & At-large Representatives! Voting closed on Friday, September 4th. We thank the many Palisadians who participated and voted! 🗳️🙌

This upcoming meeting will also feature a presentation on the status of trash collection by LA Sanitation, as well as two important motions: 1) a motion proposed by the Executive Committee for Board approval of an important 2-year Strategic Plan for PPCC; and 2) a motion recommended by the CRCC for Board approval of a proposed Comment on the Federal Block Grant Funding Formula (methodology used by the Housing & Urban Development Dept./HUD to allocate disaster relief funding to communities). In addition, we’ll have reports from
1) - the new “3 Chairs Committee,” on the Area & At-large Alternates application, nominations, and elections.

2) the Infrastructure Committee, on the status of a temporary pole top distributing station (TPTDS) on Sunset Blvd. at Marquez Place, a site where a TPTDS has existed for the last nine years; the new installation temporarily was paused in connection with a lawsuit brought by a TPTDS opponent — with potentially resulting in a pause on undergrounding of utilities for the Palisades.

3) the Land Use Committee, on the status of a motion in City Council to declare several Palisades properties as “surplus land” for revenue generation (most of the listed parcels are known to be on or near geologically unsafe land, raising serious concerns; matter now paused in Council to allow further discussions among CD 11 and community members, and leaders.

Last but not least, we’ll hear additional reports and announcements from the President, PPCC reps, and government representatives.
