Looking to start or advance your career in public safety and emergency communications?

We are now accepting applications for the positions of Public Safety Telecommunicator (9-1-1 Dispatcher) and Public Safety Telecommunications Supervisor (Shift Supervisor).

Starting pay with NO experience is $19.67/hr after training ($18.54 during with increases based on progression) for Telecommunicators.

Supervisory positions start at $21.49/hr for applicants with previous public safety and supervisory experience.

There are currently 3 different Thunderstorm Warnings for Christian County.

Main threat continues to be hail and wind. The most recent warning coming into the western part of the county has reports of hail up to 2.75" in diameter.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHERN CHRISTIAN COUNTY until 5:30PM.

The sirens may be sounding in Billings and Clever due to large and damaging hail.

Sirens are not yet being activated in Nixa or Ozark as we continue to monitor the storm with Christian County Emergency Management and the US National Weather Service Springfield Missouri.

Tornado Watch expanded and extended. Christian County is under a Tornado Watch until 2:00am, Monday April 27.

Christian County is NOT currently in the Tornado Watch just issued by the National Weather Service in Springfield, but that does not diminish the probability of severe weather this afternoon and into the overnight hours for our community.

Make sure you are staying up-to-date (as best as you can with this Missouri weather!) with the latest forecast from local TV, radio stations, and apps.
