🎉 In the News: PGCDPC 2025 Scholarships awarded! 🎓✨

Big congrats to this year’s amazing recipients:
Simone Forrest (Class of 2025, Christ Church Boarding School) 🎒
Webster Jackson (Salisbury University) 📚
Adrian Sison (Graduate student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore) 🧠

Each scholar submitted the full scholarship package — resumes, transcripts, references, and proof of living in County Council District 8. 🗂️✅

They also weighed in on a thought-provoking essay about Maryland’s adult-use edibles law. Here are some highlights:
Simone: “Once individuals reach a certain age, risks don’t just disappear; they become even more complicated.” ⚖️
Webster: “I disagree with the new law. Home edibles raise safety concerns; dosage miscalculations are easy without professionals. Legalizing home production makes monitoring harder.” 🚫🧪
Adrian: “If students could control the content of their edibles, some hospital visits might have been avoided.” 🏥🤔

The PGCDPC is dedicated to promoting drug policies that emphasize public health and humane approaches to substance use. Our scholarships have sparked critical thinking about today’s drug climate, and we’re proud to have awarded over $213,000 to students since 2012. 💸💙
