The Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce was excited to participate in Saturday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Kitchen Collective Market. It was wonderful to celebrate this exciting addition to our community and to see so many people come out to support local entrepreneurship and small businesses. We wish the Kitchen Collective Market continued success and look forward to watching it grow and thrive in Portsmouth.

This year, make the effort to attend a Memorial Day Parade or Memorial ceremony with your families. We enjoy these freedoms due to the sacrifices of others.

My family and I took the unique opportunity to lay roses on the graves in Arlington National Cemetery this weekend. As we spoke the names of each of those soldiers before we laid a rose, we reflected on their bravery, their love for this country, and price they paid so we can live in the greatest country. 🇺🇸

The internal satisfaction I get from seeing the positive impacts of different projects across the county is what drives me.

As I stand here in Green Township getting ready to go on a run, I’m reflecting on the park by the dam. Just a few short years ago I was told we wouldn’t be able to get this park to revitalize it. After many calls and discussions I convinced the Army Corps to lease us this space for $1.

Since then we built the first fully ADA playground in the county, remodeled the restrooms, and fixed the shelter houses.

Today the park is packed, both shelter houses are in use and families are creating memories.

Some projects take time, but the time is worth it.

Tonight at the Jeep Jackpot Justin won the top prize of $5000 in the reverse raffle and he authorized me to donate it all back to the Athletic Boosters.

As a Jeep parent, I appreciate his willingness to give back, and I know his love for this community and school runs deep.

Under the Leadership of Shawnee State University President Eric Braun we continue to see major improvements and announcements.

Tonight at the President’s Gala we recognized SSU and their 40 years of positive impact on the region, and they are just getting started. I’m looking forward to the next 40.

Another successful event by the True Lure team!

This event provides disabled veterans and children with the opportunity to fish and enjoy a time of fellowship and food out at the lake.

Consistent collaboration continues to move us forward.

Congratulations Wings of Hope on the ribbon cutting for the new playground at Bannon Park. The project was a collaboration between the County, City, Community Action, federal government and the many private donors that contributed.

It is a wonderful space where families and children can connect and play. Looking forward to taking my kids back to climb the main structure again.
