Attention Library Supporters! Good news!

I got a late evening call from Eddie Albertson that "the millage passed".

He asked me to let everyone know asap.

Praises of gratitude to all who helped make this happen!
My personal thanks to the "Inner Circle" of committed, hard workers! You know who you are, and what you have done!
This is a community thing, and we all pulled together, and helped make it happen!

Cordially,
CHUCK MURRAY

A few years back the Voters of Brandon Township approved a 2 mill tax to support the Brandon Township Public Library. Times were good, and, because the tax base was expanding, that millage was cut back to 1.77. More recently however, with the tax base shrinking, the Library has been forced to cut back hours, staff and expenditures to live within the greatly reduced tax revenues.

Your YES VOTE will roll taxes back to the 2 mil rate approved by voters over 10 years ago. A YES VOTE will cost the average resident less than $20, but will allow the Library to continue to serve our community, and continue to meet the needs of our children, students, adults and seniors.

YES, the Library is all about reading and books. But it is also about computers, meeting rooms, job-search resources, research, educational programs, free CDs, videos, games, Audio Books, E-books and being a gathering place for the community.

At 9 AM there is a line of kids and parents waiting to get in. In the afternoon, the Library is busy with students, in the evenings, busy with adult and children’s programs. Local business people use the Library for meetings, and job seekers use the computers for career opportunities.

Your Library is good for your community!
VOTE YES to keep your library alive.
