Statement of Withdrawal from the Orange County District 7 Commissioner Race
It is with deep consideration and a heavy heart that I announce my withdrawal from the race for Orange County District 7 Commissioner due to an unexpected health issue that requires my full attention and priority at this time.
Serving the residents of District 7 and working to build a stronger, more equitable community has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Throughout this campaign, I have been humbled by the overwhelming support, encouragement, and belief shown by volunteers, supporters, donors, community leaders, family, and friends. I am sincerely grateful for every conversation, every endorsement, every contribution, and every act of kindness extended to our campaign.
While this decision was not an easy one, my physicians have advised that I focus on my health and recovery. In order to give both my health and the office the commitment they deserve, I believe stepping aside is the most responsible course of action.
I remain deeply committed to the future of Orange County and District 7. Although I will no longer be a candidate in this election, my passion for serving our community remains unchanged. I will continue to advocate for the issues that matter most to our residents and support efforts that improve the quality of life for all who call District 7 home.
To my campaign team, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who placed their trust in me, thank you for standing alongside me throughout this journey. Your dedication and belief in our shared vision have meant more than words can express.
I respectfully ask for your prayers, understanding, and privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.
With gratitude,
Maggie St. Jean,
Candidate for Orange County District 7 Commissioner
