Requirements for Police Officer:
Applicants must be 19 years of age.
Must have a valid driver license.
Cannot be convicted of a felony.
No misdemeanor convictions involving force,
violence, moral turpitude, perjury, or false statements
Must complete and pass the Basic Ability Test (BAT) as prescribed by APOSTC.
Must complete the Physical Ability Course as prescribed by APOSTC.
Pass Background check which consists of a fingerprints check, criminal background, drivers' history, reference checks, and employment history.
Formal interview board.
After a Conditional Offer of Employment:
Complete a psychological exam with satisfactory results.
Complete a physical medical examination with satisfactory results.
Complete a drug screen with satisfactory results.
Complete a polygraph with satisfactory results.
Requirements for Police Reserve:
Applicants must be at least 19 years of age.
Possess a valid driver license.
Must not be convicted of a felony.
No misdemeanor convictions of domestic violence, crimes involving force, violence or moral turpitude.
Each applicant must submit to a background investigation consisting of a fingerprint, criminal and driver records check.
Pass a medical exam, drug screen, and a psychological evaluation.
