In Lee County, Ensler secured 54.6% of the vote.

Dakarai Larriett for Senate and Everett Wess for Senate 2026 are headed to a runoff in Alabama for U.S. Senate.

Wess received nearly 40% of the Democratic vote throughout the state, and Larriett garnered 29%. However, Larriett won the Lee County vote with 36.5%.

Two Democratic candidates will meet in a runoff to decide their party’s nominee for the U.S. Senate.

Everett Wess and Dakarai Larriett received 40% and 29% of the vote, respectively, in unofficial totals to move on from the four-candidate field. Wess is a Birmingham attorney who served as lead attorney in the criminal defense of Harvey Updyke, the man who pleaded guilty in March 2013 to poisoning the oak trees at Auburn‘s landmark Toomer’s Corner.
