Our next FolkHouse concert is October 16! Join us in the historic Joslyn Castle Carriage House for an evening with singer-songwriter, Sarah McQuaid in a tradition that spans cultures and genres with peerless musicianship.

Sarah McQuaid’s lush, velvety voice combines with her engaging personality and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience. Her live performances are full of warmth, wit, and intimacy, and have earned her loyal followings on both sides of the Atlantic.

We are looking forward to opening our gallery doors for the Art Walk today! Start your walk at the Cathedral Arts Project Cultural Center for the Gallery Invitational featuring works by 50+ local artists.

Michael McCarthy will be selling vintage medallions from 5-8pm.

At 6:15pm Matt Mason will read poetry in the Conference Hall.

Tomorrow is our final Art Walk of 2026! We’re celebrating with an artist vendor fair at Joslyn Castle & Gardens alongside two art show opening receptions!

Step inside the Castle and get to know local artists and makers at our vendor market. Check out the gorgeous new solo show by Gabriella Quiroz presented by LALA (Local Artists. Local Art) Exhibitions in the first floor galleries.

Pop over to the Carriage House Cafe for a cozy cup of coffee or sweet treat. Enjoy the works of local authors in the Carriage House Gallery during the Nebraska Poetry Society Poetry Pause and see the “Eerie Odds,” a solo show by Katie Martin.

We hosted the Heartland Plein Air Festival lunch break sessions here in the Castle & Cathedral Creative District yesterday. It was a moody, rainy day in Omaha, but the artists set up in the shade of the Joslyn Castle & Gardens garden, umbrellas and some in the backs of their cars!

Thank you Ralston Hinge Creative District for organizing the festival and getting all the Creative Districts involved!

All are welcome at No Gatekeepers Poetry Night with Matt Mason! Join us in the Joslyn Castle Carriage House tomorrow for an evening of poetry.

Bring two poems: one of your own, one by another poet. Be that of a friend, favorite song, something you read in school. Both poems should make us feel or understand some kind of experience or story. You have 5 minutes to share, after which a horn will sound.
