"To the father who is experiencing his first Father’s Day while grieving the loss of a child, I want to encourage you to let it out this year. Pour your heart out with the people you love. Do not hide from what you feel. Sorrow is not a sign of weakness. Vulnerability is one of the greatest signs of strength. Our children deserve our deepest love, even when that love is expressed through grief.

Find ways to honor your child that bring you peace in the midst of pain. Share your sorrow with those who care for you, so the weight of it can be shared. Allow yourself to begin healing. And remember, healing is not forgetting. It is a way of honoring those we have lost.

To all the loving fathers reading this, Happy Father’s Day."

💙 These are the words of Samson, SJ's dad, and a member of our NILMDTS board. He wrote this for every father facing Father's Day without their child to hold. Read his full story: https://loom.ly/8svx-N4

Juneteenth is a powerful celebration of freedom and is also an important reminder of the work that needs to be done to ensure change for all, especially in maternal health. We believe that every expectant parent deserves the right to a safe pregnancy and a healthy birth.

This Juneteenth, we stand firm in our belief that poor birth outcomes can be preventable and recommit to our goal to make meaningful, sustainable, and systemic change that leads to a world where the impacts of age, ability, access to healthcare, ethnicity, geography, race, or socioeconomic status are no longer predictors of stillbirth.

🍝 20 meals… and so much love 🤍

This weekend, I delivered my 20th Lasagna Love meal.

I began this journey one year ago in July, in honor of my mother-in-law’s “Glory Day.” She loved slow-cooked meals shared with family during the holidays, and this felt like a small way to carry that love forward for another family.

I continued making lasagna as part of In the Arms of Jesus Comfort for families in seasons of grief or hardship because our family was blessed by so many meals in those early days of grief. It meant more than words can say.

20 meals down… and we’ll keep showing up. 💗

In the Arms of Jesus Comfort + Advocacy holds space for both remembrance and prevention 🤍

For the mamas who are expecting, for the families who are grieving, and for those who want to learn how to protect and honor life, we carry this work close to our hearts.

At In the Arms of Jesus Comfort + Advocacy, we advocate for safer pregnancies, informed care, and meaningful moments for every family. Through education, awareness, and partnership, we support stillbirth prevention, maternal health, and compassionate memory-making in hospitals.

Freya’s mommy is honored to serve as a Nebraska ambassador for the Kicks and to support the mission of the Placenta, helping equip families with knowledge that can save lives.

This is more than advocacy; it’s love in action, for every baby and every family.

🌸 Just a gentle reminder… we’re here 🤍

If today feels heavy, if you’re missing your child a little (or a lot), or if someone you love is walking through loss, you don’t have to carry it alone.

At In the Arms of Jesus Comfort, we come alongside families in gentle, meaningful ways, through thoughtfully prepared comfort packages, prayer blankets, peer support, and simple acts of care like meals or a listening ear. We also hold space for remembrance, because your child matters and your grief deserves to be honored.

Whether you need support right now or want to learn what’s available, you are always welcome here.

You are seen.
You are loved.
You are held. 💗

Before I ever became involved in Measure the Placenta, people were already fighting to be heard by “the” ACOG… writing letters, requesting meetings, making calls, showing up again and again to get ACOG’s attention.

My very first project was joining a letter-writing campaign to ACOG. This has been years in the making.

Ann has been working for years to get this op-ed published. Years of heart, persistence, revisions, and rejection.
And now, it’s finally here, published in one of the nation’s most influential health policy publications.

I’m so proud of Ann, Sam, and Helen. This is more than an article, it’s a call to action.

Please take a moment to read and share. The more people who see this, the harder it is to ignore.

We are calling on ACOG to take action to address preventable stillbirth.
