During an election year, there are certain restrictions on my communications to prevent the use of public, state resources for campaign purposes. I know there are folks in our community – and many across the state – who remain fearful and deeply concerned about the escalating tensions we’ve seen with immigration enforcement over the last year. That’s why I want to share this resource from the Washington State Attorney General. No matter your status, it’s important we are all aware of our rights should we encounter civil immigration enforcement at some point in Washington state.

Below is a partial screenshot. Follow this link to view the full one-pager: https://bit.ly/AGKYRICE.

Also: If you or a loved one is confronted by ICE, or witnesses suspected ICE activity, you can call the statewide rapid-response phone number 1-844-724-3737 to report the encounter. This hotline is operated by the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network. It was created in 2017 and has received state funding since 2020.

Please do share this with anyone who may benefit.

During the 2026 legislative session, I had the chance to speak with dozens of high school students at the 2026 Educational Advocacy Summit in Olympia 📚🎓

Organized by the Association of WA Student Leaders (AWL), this was the first-ever student-led civic education summit in the organization's 70-year history, offering a chance to engage in civic leadership beyond local classrooms.

It was so inspiring to meet so many civically engaged high schoolers who are ready to step up as our next generation of leaders!

Early this session, the House adopted my House Resolution 4676, which recognizes the growing partnership between Washington and Québec. 🇺🇸🤝🇨🇦

This relationship represents nearly $850 Million in bilateral trade, more than 30 Québec-based companies operating in our state, and collaboration in clean energy, aerospace, artificial intelligence, life sciences, transportation, and advanced manufacturing.

With the opening of the Delegation of Québec in Seattle and expanding partnerships between our businesses and governments, we are building a long-term alliance grounded in shared democratic values and a commitment to innovation!

House Bill 1859 has been signed into law! I introduced this legislation with the goal of expanding opportunities for affordable housing - specifically on properties owned by religious organizations. There are faith organizations across Washington with underused land and eager to be part of the solution to homelessness and the rising cost of housing.

This new law makes it easier for cities and counties to grant density bonuses when religious organizations commit to long-term affordable housing projects. Faith communities have always stepped up to care for their neighbors. This law removes red tape so churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples can turn underused land into stable, affordable homes for working families and seniors for decades to come.

House Bill 2320 has been signed into law! This measure updates Washington’s ghost gun laws by clarifying that fi****ms manufactured through 3D printing or CNC milling without proper controls are illegal and restricts the distribution of digital gun manufacturing code to unlicensed individuals.

Fi****ms are now the leading cause of death for young people in this country. This new law recognizes modern technological realities and aims to protect our children and communities.

Washington state is committed to keeping our communities safe from gun violence, including from untraceable fi****ms.

I signed a bill to prohibit the distribution of the digital firearm manufacturing code — the digital blueprint — to anyone who is not a federal fi****ms manufacturer or dealer.

This ensures bad actors can't get their hands on the tools required to create these untraceable fi****ms, which are banned in Washington state.

Thank you to Rep. Salahuddin and Sen. Valdez.
