Walk for Recovery Participation
DATE: Saturday, September 5, 2026
START Location: Mauney Memorial Park, Catawba Avenue, Old Fort, NC
FINISH Location: Resilience Ranch, 8331 Sugar Hill Road, Marion, NC
DESCRIPTION: 10 Teams of 3-8 people, register to walk 1-mile of a 10-mile route. Teams will be assigned a number, their Station Number, and time from which they will begin the walk. For example, Team 1 will start walking from Station 1 at 8:00 AM. The walk will conclude at Resilience Ranch at approximately 12:30 PM for celebration and lunch. Lead and follow cars will cover the teams during their walk. This is a rain or shine event!

We had a great time at the recent Old Fort Community Forum! We learned about how to stay safe in exteme heat, enjoyed an ice cream social, and gave away door prizes. Here are some resources for extreme heat safety:

We had loads of fun at the Old Fort Community Forum Game Night last night! We played Bingo, had games for all ages, and gift cards from local businesses were awarded throughout the evening. Thank you to all that joined us!

There will NOT be an Old Fort Community Forum in June. However, please join us for our Juneteenth Celebration!

HEADS UP! Tomorrow (Friday) we will have free food distribution in cooperation with Foothills Food Hub . They are providing us with tons of stuff for you to come and grab. No questions asked, come and get food for your household for this coming storm and the week of snow to follow. There will be lots of food including fresh eggs, cheese, and produce!

Where: The Davis Country Store & Cafe 75 East Main Street in Old Fort
When: Friday at 4 to 6 or until we are out
For Who: ANYONE
