Georgia National Fair 4-H exhibits

Five Irwin 4-H’ers participated with creating exhibits for the Georgia National Fair this year. These 4-H’ers used imagine and creativity in each exhibit. I am so proud of each participant.

2026 Sunbelt Ag Expo

Irwin County 4-H’ers enjoyed a day at the Sunbelt Ag Expo on Wednesday, October 21st, 2026. As we entered, Tyler Harper, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner was welcoming the crowd. We toured the Georgia Grown building and saw familiar faces from the Georgia Department of Agriculture. 😊 With many steps made during the day and a lot of vendor visits, we had a wonderful day. Anna and Lauren participated in Youth Educational Challenge with ABAC at the event. We always see good friends at the Expo and this year was no different. We visited in the UGA building to talk with Agents and learn about the crops grown in Georgia. Anything you could imagine relating to agriculture was at the Sunbelt Ag Expo.

Irwin County 4-H SAFE Archery practice information

Practice begins on Thursday, October 29th, 2026, beginning at 4:30 pm, location will be on the grass at the OLD Irwin High School located at 311 Vo Tech Dr, Ocilla, GA 31774. Look for the hay bales on the grass.

We are excited as seven 4-H'ers have signed up for Archery this year.

Georgia State 4-H & FFA Rabbit Show
December 12, 2026
Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter
Perry, GA
The show will be held Saturday, December 12, at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry.

Check-in is from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The Skillathon runs from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., showmanship begins at 9:45 a.m., and the rabbit show begins at 11:00 a.m. ARBA Registrar Karen Zgonc will judge the show.

Rabbit entries are $7 per rabbit and are due by December 6. Showmanship is $5 per exhibitor. Exhibitors can sign up for both showmanship and the Skillathon on the day of the show. Please make checks payable to Central Region FFA.

Irwin 4-H’ers 6th-12th grade

The Irwinville Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 7th, and we have received a request for our 4-H’ers to be in charge of games. Who would be willing to work a few hours 9 am-3 pm? This is great portfolio work also. Let me know if you want more information. Thanks!
