📢 MARINE CORPS TUITION ASSISTANCE — FY26 END-OF-YEAR REMINDER
Marines, don’t wait until the last minute to submit your Tuition Assistance (TA) request! 🎓
📅 Classes starting September 15–30, 2026:
TA applications must be submitted and command-approved by close of business September 14, 2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to policy.
⏰ Remember: TA requests can be submitted up to 60 days in advance!
📚 Classes beginning October 1, 2026 or later:
Commands may continue approving courses, but Base Education Centers cannot approve courses beginning October 1 or later until HQMC funds are dispersed.
✅ Tip: Double-check your command approver’s name and work email before submitting. Incorrect information is a common reason Marines do not receive their TA vouchers.

🌤️ Happy Fun Fact Friday! 🥳

Often we get questions pertaining to "where we're at on the base..." We've got two locations for you to come and visit!

Our main location is on Mainside (please stop calling it "Old Mainside" because that's not a real title) in the 13 Area. Temporarily we're at BLDG 13150 (Marine & Family Programs HQ), on the second floor in rooms 231 and 241 for customer service. Pretty soon we'll be moving to a newly renovation place- BLDG 1106!! We are sooo excited. We've been waiting literally 10 years for this renovation!

Our second location is at the School of Infantry, Area 52. We're in BLDG 520512 (Marine & Family Programs) right on Basilone Road (we've got an ATM on our location). Some people think they cannot visit us here because we're within the SOI area but that's 100% NOT TRUE!! We take care of Marines, Sailors, and families just like our main location (no testing here yet).

🌟Fun Fact Friday! There is no minimum time in service for a Marine to start using TA! 🥳

Hello everyone- we've received too many unfortunate misunderstandings of who qualifies for Marine Corps Tuition Assistance.

Did you know... there was a policy that stated Marines had to be in for 2 years before they could start using TA. This is true information. HOWEVER, it ended in March of 2019. Just yesterday, a Marine stated out loud he "was told" by someone at his unit he couldn't use TA until he hit his two year mark. This is absolutely incorrect. MARADMIN 150/19 (which is still active) clearly states there is no minimum time of waiting (even MAT Marines can use TA if the command allows it).

People mean well when giving advice. Unfortunately, when information is wrong (because it's not coming from the main source) some people lose out on opportunities.

💪Let's do better! Refer your Marines to the Base Education Center to get up to date information, or better yet- leaders, you can be informed too!

Here are some points to consider when trying to do better with education opportunities:

1. Each unit (BN/Squadron) should have a designated Unit Education Officer. This is listed in MCO 1560.25 (Lifelong Learning).

2. It's not required to attend a TA orientation again if you've done so in the past, but getting refreshed on the policies is a good idea. You can simply ask for any updated documentation or flyers from us. Or just simply ask if TA has changed over the years.

3. Try to stay connected with us at the Base Education Center!! Hey now, we're cool people 😉😎. We've got two locations (Mainside and SOI) and we LOVE to help everyone!!

4. Just think before you try to give advice. What if you're wrong? Has it been a long time since you've used TA or been informed? Information always gets updated, so you should be up to date too.
