Gilroy, CA - The L4A Bay Area caravan arrived at 7240 Holsclaw Road, where leaked construction documents show ICE plans to build an immigrant processing and detention center in Santa Clara County.

As we filmed, workers passing by and neighbors driving honked to express support for the protest, demonstrating mass community disapproval of the proposed new facility.

This vacant building is on 24.5 acres of privately owned land now loaned to the federal government in a multi-million dollar contract.

The Trump administration’s bloating ICE budgets have resulted in the widespread disappearance, physical abuse, torture, and unlawful indefinite detention of immigrants and refugees at facilities like the one proposed here.

Santa Clara County and Monterey County have already made their opposition clear. A protest at this location is planned for tomorrow, Sunday, 6/14 at 1 PM Community Service Organization San Jose

From California City to the Bay, FREE THEM ALL!

San Jose, CA - A caravan of Bay Legalization For All (L4A) network member organizations have hit the road towards California City as a part of L4A's national weekend of action against immigrant detention centers.

The main demand is "Free our people! Free them all!". In particular demanding freedom for Guillermo Medina Reyes and Kubanych Moldobaev, two Bay Area community members that have been held at California City ICE Detention Center for months.

Along the route, stops are planned for Gilroy, where ICE is attempting to open a new detention center, and McFarland, where ICE operates Golden State Annex, a privately-run immigrant concentration camp managed by GeoGroup.
