If you had abstinence-only s*x ed, you’re probably used to piecing things together yourself. Inclusive s*x ed understands student’s diverse needs and leaves no one in the dark, including inters*x and LGBTQIA+ youth who have long been neglected.

We spend years teaching our kids how to fly, and then one day they do.

As our children grow, move away, find their people, build careers, create families, and follow their dreams, our role changes. But our love never does.

What do you hope your child carries with them as they head out into the world?

Finish this sentence in the comments:

“As you go out into the world, I want you to remember…”

Let’s fill this comment section with the kind of words every child deserves to hear. 🩷

The AIDS pandemic decimated the San Francisco gay community. Thousands and thousands of young gay men died horrible deaths, some only days after falling ill. In 2011, filmmaker David Weissman, who himself lived through the epidemic, released the feature-length documentary “We Were Here,” a touching look back at how the epidemic affected the local gay community. The film will screen, with Weissman in attendance, on June 10 at the main branch of the San Francisco Public Library in the Koret Auditorium. The screening commemorates the 15th anniversary of the film’s release.

“The idea came up in a conversation with a much younger boyfriend at the time who had heard me tell many stories about the epidemic and said somebody needs to make a documentary, because my generation knows that we’re supposed to be wearing condoms but we don’t really know much about the history,” said Weissman in an interview with David-Elijah Nahmod. “And my immediate reaction was, ‘There’s no way in the world I’m going to make a documentary about AIDS,’ and then that changed in about a minute. I realized that this was something that was important to do and that I was the person to do it.”
