Q: Paul, I forgot that you existed since your last election. What were you involved with during your first term?

A: In addition to being the 2020 Council President, here are a couple of items to know/remember about my first term on the Council, though I caution that the list is certainly not exhaustive:

1. I was a key voice in support of any means necessary to get the school safety ordinance passed that put a police officer in Norwood Public School at all times following the rash of school shootings nationwide;

2. I consistently spoke in support of potential ordinances and regulations that were in the best interest of Norwood’s natural resources and the use and enjoyment of one’s property;

3. I was, and remain, an analytical, emotionally detached voter on all Norwood personnel-related issues;

4. I was, and remain, a key advocate of the Northern Valley Greenway Project;

5. I was, and continue to be, a regular attendant and participant at the Norwood Public School Board of Education meetings as both a parent and as Council liaison;

6. I was, and remain, a vocal proponent of regular, aggressive action as to the Livingston Street construction projects in order to keep the long-delayed momentum going towards completion of those projects;

7. Given my career as an attorney, I have provided, and continue to provide, my own input on strategy as to all legal issues facing the Borough;

8. I am, and have consistently been, a vocal proponent of caution and strongly crafted guidelines for the gradual reopening of Norwood during the COVID-19 pandemic;

9. As a young professional who himself is careful with the money since I still have 2 girls to put through their teenage years, college, and weddings (cringe!), I have and continue to be, a voice for the smart use of taxpayer’s money; and

10. I am, and consistently have been, a source of levity interspersed with serious analysis at all meetings, Council or otherwise, that I attend in town.

Good evening everyone, official Facebook Haberman & Kim campaign page coming shortly! In the meantime, some refresher points on the current Council President, serious and otherwise...

1. Born and raised on Long Island's North Shore.

2. B.A. in Political Science, American University, Class of 2000. YET did not mess with politics until my last Council campaign, some 17 years later.

3. J.D., Hofstra University School of Law, Class of 2005. Research Editor of Hofstra Law’s Family Court Review law journal. Moot Court participant, including “Best Brief” winner in 2L competition.

4. 9-year Norwood resident, currently residing here with my wife, Kimberly, and my two daughters, Sienna (8) and Lila (4).

5. Accomplished attorney with nearly 50 wins in federal and state court and clients in a range of industries including health, entertainment, and sports.

6. Principal/Owner of the Law Offices of Paul S. Haberman LLC.

7. Named to Super Lawyers' "Rising Stars" list five times.

8. Ex-Boxing Manager, DJ, Capitol Hill Intern, and Bartender, among other lines of work.

9. Described through the years as "deceptively intelligent," a "silent leader," and, for better or worse (you all can decide), a look-alike of such notables as Freddie Prinze, Jr., Vinny from "Jersey Shore," Wallace from “Wallace and Gromit,” and, according to my Mom, the boy who adorned the “Pastina” boxes (when I was little).
