Another successful awarded year of the Dr. Karin Durán Memorial Youth Scholarship.

This year Comisión Femenil was ablebto award 7 Scholarships of $2000 each! Big Thanks to all of our donors!

Highlights from our Posadas with Comision - 2022

Hi everyone!

Many thanks to Martha and Veto Ruiz for hosting our Summer Mixer this past weekend at their beautiful casa and thank you to members who attended, especially those who brought guests! To our 3 new members, welcome!!

We had a wonderful spread of delicious food and desserts and great raffle prizes. We raised $265.00!! Funds raised at our raffle drawings help with administrative, meetings, equipment, and supply costs, so thank you for your kind donations! Please let us know if you brought a raffle prize and the value so we can record our in-kind donations.

Anita and Xochitl did a great job of organizing the “Meet our Comadres” game. It was so much fun, and we got some great ideas for upcoming events. Look out for some fun Amigaza Days soon!

“I joined comision because I believed in the mission of the organization. Mentorship is extremely important to me, and joining comision meant that I could to provide opportunities to others in my community.

This summer I will have 1 year as a member.

I am a general member and serve as liaison to the High school mentorship program

One of the best moments with Comision was my first meeting, that also happened to be a mixer, the woman inspired me through their individual work in the community. During the meeting I was given the opportunity to speak and introduce myself, I was so inspired by all the incredible woman in the room and I knew I had found a home! I volunteer to provide opportunities for others that may not have them otherwise. I volunteer to hopefully inspire young woman to be the best version of themselves. My best friend Celeste inspired me to join Comision at a Cesar Chavez March. I was in search of an organization that helped Latina woman and I found them wearing pink and volunteering at a March.”

Today Comisión Femenil Comadres presented a pizza party to for attending Adelante Mujer Latina Career Conference 2026 with the most students!
