The Department of Public Works (DPW) handles street cleaning, snow removal, pothole repairs, sewer issues, traffic signage, graffiti removal, and residential bulk pick-up. Street Cleaning
A comprehensive street sweeping schedule is posted on the Township website at www.northbergen.org. Click on Street Cleaning Service under Public Works in the right column. Snow Removal
With the hilly terrain of
the township, snow removal is a critical and complex issue. North Bergen prides itself on the quick and efficient job done by the DPW in keeping the roads clear even in major storms. The township stockpiles salt and maintains a modern fleet of snow removal vehicles for immediate deployment as required by the weather. To assist in the removal of snow, residents are asked to refrain from throwing snow in the streets and not to park on corners so that snow removal vehicles can do their job without obstruction. Pothole Repairs
The Township operates a pothole hotline at (201) 330-7263. To notify us of a pothole that needs repair, please leave your name, phone number and the location of the pothole. Sewer Issues

In the event of an after-hours emergency call the North Bergen Police Department at (201) 392-2100. Traffic department
