Crisis of housing affordability across the country, but in Montco we’re making a difference.

Just last week, we broke ground on 20 new affordable housing units in Upper Merion, thanks to partnerships with Upper Merion Township, Valley Forge Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and more. With the County’s $1.7 million investment, we’re turning this unused space into homes for working families.

This is all part of our plan, laid out in Montco’s first-ever Housing Blueprint. Not everyone believes the housing crisis is theirs to solve, but in Montgomery County, we do. 🏘️

Criticism is a normal part of running for office. The threat of violence is not.

I was invited by the ICMA - International City/County Management Association Local Government Reimagined Conference to speak to local leaders from across the country about steps we can take to reduce the threat of political violence and continue to serve our communities.

It was great to see Montco residents like Corie Alicea, Associate Director at Villanova University who is inspiring the next generation of leaders in public service. We don’t want people to be deterred from public service.

This morning, we kicked off with Montgomery County’s annual Pride Flag Raising at the Courthouse. 🏳️‍🌈

Alongside Lori Schreiber, Clerk of Courts, Morgan Selkirk, Chair of the LGBTQIA+ Commission, Corinne Goodwin, Executive Director of Eastern PA Trans Equity, and Jeremy Williams, COO of Philly Pride 365, as well as our Row Officers, community partners, and advocates, we also unveiled a special 200-foot Pride flag on the Courthouse steps.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate, share their voices, and support LGBTQIA+ communities across Montgomery County. 🌈

The question isn’t whether housing challenges will shape our future, it’s whether we’re ready to lead and plan thoughtfully for that future 🏠

Proud to support our first Housing Blueprint and the next chapter of this work.

Montco has now invested $30M in ARPA funds in community centers across every community!

The latest is the Bharatiya Learning Center, which is officially open and made possible in part by $2.9M in County ARPA funding. It’s a new hub for education, culture, and connection across generations. From classrooms to community programs, this is what investing in every community looks like. 🤝
