CVC: Community Volunteer Corp We are dedicated to performing community services in the Bucks county area

We just recently started a new Club at the Upper Bucks Campus of Bucks County Community College called the Community Volunteer Corp. The purpose of this club is to recognize businesses and organizations in the Bucks County area that go above and beyond for our community and have a positive impact on Bucks County and its citizens. Our purpose is to educate the student about these local organization

s and businesses by having them come in and speak to the students about what their organization does (that people may or may not know about) and what types of struggles they face in achieving that objective. We would then coordinate with that organization or business and have our students do an event for them that would reward them for all the hard work they do. The only distinction we try to make is that this is not just another group of helpers coming to volunteer to help further their cause (although that may happen too); but more as a way to personally reward them as an organization or business by doing whatever they need that they may not have the time or resources to accomplish themselves.

Join us on for our next event Saturday October 29th @ Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA. The CVC will be Volunteering at Light Up The Night. Each year, in communities all across the United States and Canada teams of families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations come together to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS's) Light The Night Walk events and bring help and hope to people battling blood cancers. What is Light The Night

Our last activity was at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County. Their goal is to mentor children, but instead of volunteering to help them in mentoring we power washed their building, weeded, mulched, and painted their road sign. Since all of the money they get goes into helping the children they never had the money or time to do this for themselves.
