This past weekend I had the honor of being sworn in as Area 1B Vice-President. I will cover Cocke, Greene, Sevierville, and Jefferson Counties. Currently there isn't a RW in Jefferson. If you know of anyone wanting to start one, let me know.

I learned a lot and will be sharing information at the various club meetings.

I also had the honor of representing CCFRW as the President. Marsha Blackburn was the guest speaker. This was the bi-annual Iris Fundraiser. The monies raised go to Republican candidates in the State of TN that need some extra help for their campaigns. CCFRW donated a purse and 2 250th wooden whisky glasses. Last I saw, the bids on the purse were at $80 and the glasses at $60. Both doubled their cost!

Check back here for some more information on "Strike Forces" coming. That's when Republican Women go to other states that need help promote a candidate. They door knock and make calls on behalf of that candidate. Our Republican efforts are not just local. It is up to us to help keep Republicans in control of the Senate and Congress. Now more than ever, we need that!

Some of the Republican Women attended tonight's Options Banquet. CCFRW's own Anna Dorroh catered and Julianne Buzzard assisted her. The food was great! It was a wonderful evening celebrating the numerous lives saved by being born and the moms/dads that learned to how to be better parents. I pray they met their financial goals. What a great organization!

CCFRW had the pleasure of Senator Steve Southerland as our guest speaker. The Senator had much to share. He shared of memories of his dear friend Senator Frank Nicely. He spoke of the many bills passed in the State of Tennessee that are ahead of National levels. The Senator talked about the great privilege of living in Tennessee and all that it offers. The Senator offered much valuable information.

The Senator swore in the new Executive Committee members. Gisela Eikey-Carr, President, Macie Reed, Vice-President, and Julie Loeffler, Secretary and Chaplain.

Cocke County Mayor Republican Candidate Joe Shults attended the meeting and unfortunately had to leave before having the opportunity to hear a few words from him.

It was a successful meeting and much was accomplished. Our next meeting will be September 8th. If you are interested in becoming a member, please message us.

There will be a meeting the Tuesday, August 11th, at 6 pm at the Cocke County Professional Development Center. Senator Steve Southerland will speak and swear in our new officers. The Senator will speak first as he needs to be back in Nashville.

The meeting will mainly focus on regrouping. I would love to share some ideas and hopes for the club. And I want to hear the thoughts from members. I really feel that together we can do what Republican Women are meant to do, educate the community and assist with election of Republican candidates. Also, support the community through conservative values.

I apologize for the late notice. I was on vacation and trying to catch up on everything handed over to me. Please be patient. I'll be more together for the next meeting.

Members, you'll be receiving an email from me, [email protected]. Be on the lookout. Thank you for trusting me to be your President. Gisela Eikey-Carr .
