🚨We need transparency, not deals behind closed doors🚨
HandsOffNYCare is raising the alarm: tomorrow, the Municipal Labor Committee (MLC) will vote on a new health plan for the municipal workforce that could take away access to the doctors that these employees trust and raise out-of-pocket costs. The new plan would shift municipal employee and retiree coverage to a model run by United Healthcare.
In a new interview with The Chief Leader, our board member Wanda Williams calls out the lack of transparency around the City’s process. She demands the city let municipal workers and retirees see exactly what’s being decided on their health care.
We cannot stay silent – let every municipal worker, every retiree, and every concerned New Yorker know: we won’t accept a backroom deal that undermines our health.
