There are many reasons to celebrate our beautiful planet today. (And to be concerned, too of course). Our oceans are the “lungs” of the Earth, producing over half the world’s oxygen. This Earth Day, let’s pledge to keep these lungs healthy by reducing pollution and supporting marine conservation efforts wherever we can. And plant a tree too while you’re at it 🥰 🌎 💨

The art world sends us back to the dark ages by oohing and ahhing over an egregiously unnecessary waste of plastic. For 16 days the Arc de Triomphe is wrapped in 270,000 square feet (!) of polypropylene - aka #5 plastic - that will never be recycled. For art? Was there not a better way? Bad enough to wrap apples 🍎 in plastic, but a huge monument too? (Yes they’ve done it before but even posthumously they’re doing it..) We love art but this is so tough to see. It is claimed to be recyclable but so is all plastic, and we know the reality, especially with thin polypropylene. Sorry Paris but this is not a good look especially for 2021! Sorry to highlight something negative but felt we had to. 0 stars out of 5 💙 📷

As we close out a tough year for the world, there is hope and optimism! A new species of blue whale recently discovered in the Indian Ocean (yes this image is a humpback 🤷🏽‍♂️)! An end in sight to the pandemic. And the world’s attention will shift back toward important issues of sustainable living, ocean conservation and leading happier, brighter lives. We’ve been a bit quiet this year but are ready and have some exciting things planned for 2021. Happy New Year - stay in touch 🌊🐳❤️
