While this is a “disease” intervention program that targets specific behavior and risk factors associated with violent behavior and gang involvement, it will have a strong community- based component which is linked to a wide range of support services. Upon successful launching of the program, KAVI will interrupt the cycle of violence in Brooklyn by indirectly lowering the number of violence-related injuries seen in Brooklyn related to gun violence.
